Our History

Gratis Church began with a simple desire: to create a place where people could encounter Jesus and grow in faith together. Since our founding, we have remained committed to our vision of living like Jesus, loving like Jesus, and leading people to Jesus. In recent years, we have experienced growth and blessings, including our move to our new permanent location at 3200 Perry Smith Rd in Monroe, GA. Through every season, we have seen God's faithfulness as we continue to serve our community and make disciples for His glory.

Gratis Pastors

Mike Peavy | Lead Pastor

Mike Peavy is the Lead Pastor of Gratis Church in Monroe, Georgia, a church he founded in 2011. Passionate about seeing people become disciples of Jesus Christ, Mike defines a disciple as someone who knows Jesus personally, is transformed daily by Him, and is actively on mission to change the world. Under his leadership, Gratis Church has grown from a small gathering in his home to a vibrant, multi-generational community that met for 13 years at Walker Park Elementary School and now worships at its permanent campus located at 3200 Perry Smith Road in Monroe, Georgia.

Mike's calling to ministry began in 1988 after hearing a sermon by Dr. Charles Stanley, which inspired him to pursue pastoral work. He has served in various pastoral roles, including over a decade as Associate Pastor at Bethlehem Church. Mike holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and brings a heart for revival, community impact, and faithful discipleship.

Known for his joyful and compassionate leadership, Mike and his wife Angie have been married for 40 years. They are proud parents of four adult children—Caleb (married to Ana), Philip, Jessica (married to Tyler), and Luke (married to Angelina)—and grandparents to five grandchildren: Caden, Judah, Nora, Griffin, with another grandchild on the way. Together, they embraced the challenge of church planting, motivated by a deep commitment to obey God's call rather than seeking financial gain. Mike often says, "I'm not in it for the income, but for the outcome," highlighting his focus on transforming lives through the gospel.

Under Mike's guidance, Gratis Church has celebrated over 100 baptisms and continues to grow in influence and outreach across Walton and Barrow counties.

Spencer Breedlove | Executive Pastor

Since September 2024, Spencer Breedlove has served as the Executive Pastor at Gratis Church in Monroe, Georgia. Bringing over 30 years of ministry and leadership experience, Spencer is known for his passion for connection, compassion, and effective execution in both church and nonprofit settings.

Spencer holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His extensive background includes roles such as youth pastor, education minister, senior pastor, and executive pastor at various churches, as well as leadership positions with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where he served multiple years supporting coaches and athletes across Northeast Georgia.

In addition to his pastoral work, Spencer co-founded Cord of Three Coaching with his wife Lisa in September 2024, offering life, marriage, and business coaching. Their coaching ministry focuses on igniting courageous growth through meaningful conversations, drawing from their own experiences and professional certifications in relationship and leadership assessments.

Spencer and Lisa Breedlove have been married for 30 years and are proud parents of three adult children: Tyler, Jared (who is married to Kendall), and Elisabeth. They live in Monroe, GA, where they co-host the Cord of Three Podcast, a platform dedicated to inspiring and equipping listeners in their personal and spiritual growth through meaningful conversations.

Known for his genuine care, resilience, and holistic approach to leadership and coaching, Spencer continues to positively impact the church and broader community by fostering spiritual growth, promoting healthy relationships, and encouraging purposeful living.
